Perry County Missouri Republic Monitor Published on Friday, December 27, 2002 12:00 AM CST Willette Meyer Willette R. (Ponder) Meyer of Perry County, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at her home. She was 80. She was born Dec. 21, 1922 in Perry County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Buchheit) Ponder. She was married Sept. 5, 1949 to Adolph A. Meyer, who preceded her in death May 27, 1998. Survivors include one son, Paul (Dolores) Meyer of Perryville; four daughters, Mary (Randy) Zoellner of Friedheim, Eileen (Charles) Alkemeyer of Bartlesville, OK, Karen (Larry) Kohlfeld of Perryville and Linda (Steve) Martin of Fruitland; three sisters, Rowena Meyer of Uniontown, Geraldine Farrar of Cape Girardeau, and Eugenia Crump of Ste. Genevieve; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and one brother. Mrs. Meyer was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek, the Ladies of St. Joseph in Perryville, and the VFW Auxiliary. The family prefers memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or family choice. The funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek, with the Rev. Mark Bozada officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery at Apple Creek. Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville provided the arrangements.
