Perry County Missouri Republic Monitor Published on Friday, December 7, 2001 12:00 AM CST Lester Winkler Lester B. Winkler, formerly of Perryville, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001 in Crestline, Ohio. He was 82. He was born Dec. 5, 1918 in Perry County, the son of the late Daniel and Anna H. (Leible) Winkler. He was married to Aline C. (Renaud) Winkler, who preceded him in death March 23, 1972. Survivors include three sons, Gerald Winkler of Soldotna, Alaska; Russell Winkler and Kevin Winkler, both of Crestline, Ohio; two daughters, Barbara Cope and Ceilann Hoffer, both of Crestline, Ohio; one sister of Margaret Buchheit of Perryville; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Raymond Winkler and Augustus Winkler; and three sisters, Leola Moore, Wilma Tucker, and Myrtle Winkler. Mr. Winkler was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a line supervisor for PPG Industries. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline, Ohio, and a member of the V.F.W. Post 2920, the American Legion Post 488, and the Knights of Columbus 2642. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz, C.M. officiating. Military Honors were provided by the American Legion Post 133. Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville provided the arrangements.
