Winona (Wilson) Schonert, nee Farris, 99, of Olney, Ill., born July 21, 1903, 
in Richland County, Ill., died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2003, at Burgin 
Manor, Olney, Ill.

Mrs. Schonert was a 1922 graduate of Olney Township High School, and a former 
teacher in the Olney schools. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist 
Church, the World War I Veterans Auxiliary, and Home Extension and Community 
Widow's Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Maude, nee Runyon, 
Farris; her husbands, Donald A. Wilson and Harry E. Schonert; three sisters, 
LaVerne Reaugh, Bessie Henry and Leona Harmon; and two brothers, Farrell and 
Telford Farris.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth O. (Thelma K.) Wilson of Belleville, Ill., 
Farrell Eugene "Gene" (June R.) Wilson of Belleville, Ill.; a stepson, Wayne A. 
(Myrna) Schonert of Olney, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Marie (Clayton) Gillard of 
Streator, Ill.; a sister, Martha (Woodrow) Hinkel of Olney, Ill.; four 
grandchildren, Donald J. (Mary) Wilson of Webster Groves, Mo.; Karen (Allen) 
Buchheit of Belleville, Ill., Dr. Randall (Dawn) Wilson of Lebanon, Ill., and 
Wendy (Randy) Reitz of St. Louis, Mo.; her step-grandchildren, Steve (Maridel) 
Schonert, Dan (Cindy) Schonert, Larry (Jill) Schonert, Bruce (Deb) Schonert, 
Keith Schonert, Barbara (Paul) Jenkinson, Garry Gillard, and Pam (Randy) Spencer; 
eight great-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Visitation: Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 
Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2003, at 
Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney, Ill., with the Rev. Kenneth Bissey and 
the Rev. Don Watson officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill cemetery, 
Olney, Ill.
