"Charles Otto Buhhite [sic] Succumbs to Illness of Three Months - Funeral Services Sunday "Charles Otto Buhhite, a lifelong resident of Sykesville, died in the Indiana Hospital at the age of 44 years at 9:40 o'clock Wednesday morning. Death followed an illness of 3 months, though he had been in poor health for several years. "The deceased was born in Sykesville on April 27, 1891, a son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Mehrwen [sic]) Buhhite, and on April 24, 1912 was united in marriage to Miss Kathleen [sic] Haag. He followed the farming industry and was regarded as one of the most successful farmers of Henderson Township. His entire life was spent on the farm on which he was born. "Mr. Buhhite was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church of Sykesville and belonged to the Masonic Order. Posessed of a friendly disposition, he was a loving husband and father whose death is sincerely mourned by his innumerable friends. "Besides his widow two daughters and two [sic] sons survive him: Mrs. Elizabeth Crissman [sic], of Philadelphia, and John, Jacob, and Anglina [sic], at home. The following brothers and sisters also survive him: J. F. Buhhite, of St. Paul, Minn.; W. F. Buhhite of Allentown; E. E. and H. J. Buhhite of Indiana; Mrs. Catherine Zimmerman, of Ernest; and Mrs. T. H. Brown, of Reynoldsville. "The body will be taken from the bereaved home at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon to the Trinity Reformed Church of Sykesville, where it will lie in state until 3 o'clock. At the later hour services will be conducted by Rev. Raymond Strine. Interment will be in the Reformed Church Cemetery." Article marked "20 Sept 1935".
